CYBER-AWARENESS
In this digital age, we need to open our eyes to the benefits of the Internet, social networks, cellphones and more, but we also need to understand a new reality; that of abuse where excessive consumption of Internet-derived products is involved. It therefore becomes essential to look into this problem and provide proactive solutions.
By founding the Esports Academy, we have always wanted to play an important role in teaching good lifestyle habits including civility in all its forms, online respect, ergonomics in a computer workstation, but also prevention and awareness of cyber-addiction, cyber-bullying and all other social problems related to electronic devices found in our schools and among our students.
PREVENTION OF INJURIES
There is a very real risk of injury in the world of electronic sport, amateur or professional. RSI, or Repetitive Strain Injuries, are inflammation with or without micro tears in soft tissue, caused by repetitive movements performed in uncomfortable postures and fixed body positions, excessive force concentrated on small parts of the body ( particularly hands, fingers and wrists), a rapid rate of neuromuscular work with insufficient breaks or insufficient recovery times, accentuated by psychophysiological factors such as stress or strong emotions. RSI damages muscles, tendons, nerves and joints as a result of repetitive strain injuries, sometimes very seriously and irreversibly.
The Academy is committed to educating players on how to prevent any injury related to playing video games, based on the principles of postural ergonomics, its environment, specific warm-up techniques and preventive self-treatment as well as awareness of healthy gambling habits, awareness of the body and its signals.
HEALTHY LIVING HABITS
We firmly believe that like a traditional sports athlete, a cyberathlete must be in an optimal state of physical and mental well-being in order to perform at their best. This invariably involves learning and applying the principles of healthy lifestyles, i.e. an assortment of behaviors and ideologies relating to physical activity, diet, hydration, sleep, stress and emotional management, to name a few.
At the Academy, our mission is to provide the knowledge and tools necessary for players so that they can learn, integrate and apply a healthy lifestyle that will follow it into an equally healthy playing practice. To do this, we offer one-off conference and training workshops on the themes of healthy lifestyles and prevention. We also offer personalized individual follow-up services strongly adapted to the realities encountered in the field of electronic sport and which can be directly integrated into your training plan.
In the same vein, we make sure to apply these principles of healthy lifestyles in our ad hoc work with young players during day camps, workshops and local training.
